Galeries Lafayette improves its customer experience with a marketplace

Specialized in fashion and household goods, Galeries Lafayette runs over 60 department stores in France and abroad. A real "marketplace" in the true, physical meaning, each store gathers a large selection of renowned brands, each of them having their own physical selling space.

Galeries Lafayette wanted to reproduce online its successful department store model: bringing together a large number of brands within a secured place. Launching a marketplace was the natural response to this challenge.

Galeries Lafayette’s Marketplace has been a huge success, as it allowed the brand to:

  • Increase its number of references and choice for their customers, with more than 70 new brands and 60,000 new references
  • Introduce 5 new product categories including home and decoration
  • Increase its online revenuesby  more than 10% in year 1
