AI Guidelines for Candidates and Interviews

AI is shaping how we work and build the future. At Mirakl, we embrace this transformation. This means it's now part of everyday work, including the hiring process.

We believe our hiring process is a fundamental element of our success. To provide clear guidance on AI usage during this process, we provide you with the following guidelines to ensure our process remains fair, accurate, and authentic while embracing innovation. By participating, you agree to respect these principles.

Agenda

How Mirakl uses AI in hiring

At Mirakl, we use AI thoughtfully to make the hiring process smoother and more enjoyable for candidates. For example, AI may help us draft content like job descriptions or outreach emails, always with a human reviewing the final version. It can also support us with scheduling and automating repetitive steps, so we can reduce administrative friction and spend more time focusing on people. Most importantly, any AI tools we use in assessments are chosen specifically to evaluate skills and abilities that matter for the role you're applying for.

With your consent, we may use AI to transcribe or summarize interviews, which allows our teams to stay present in the conversation instead of taking notes. We also rely on AI to generate metrics and insights that help us continuously improve the candidate experience.

What’s important to know is that AI never makes hiring decisions at Mirakl. Those decisions are always made by people. We're committed to treating all candidates fairly. We also never use candidate data to train public AI models. Protecting your personal data is a priority, and our ISO/IEC 27018 certification demonstrates our commitment to best practices for safeguarding information in cloud environments.

Guidelines for Candidates

General Principles
Across all stages of your hiring process, be transparent about AI usage when it significantly contributes to your work. You may use AI to research Mirakl, practice interview questions, organize your thoughts, and help write your resume or cover letter.

However, all information must be accurate and represent your real experience. Do not invent skills, jobs, or achievements. When you use AI to help with your application or preparation, tell us about it.

Live Interviews
Do not use AI during phone, video, or on-site interviews. This includes reading AI-generated answers or using hidden prompts. We want to hear your own thoughts and experiences in real time.

Take-Home Assignments and Case Studies
You may use AI for research and brainstorming. However, your final work must show your own thinking, analysis, and conclusions. Mention where AI helped you, for example: "Used AI for research; all analysis is my own." Be ready to explain your work and defend your recommendations during follow-up discussions.

Live Technical Assessments
For live technical interviews, we want to test your problem-solving skills and technical knowledge, so AI is usually not allowed. When AI is permitted, we will clearly state this in the instructions. In those cases, use it transparently and be ready to explain your prompts, decisions, and trade-offs. You must be able to modify or explain your solution without AI help.

Presentations
You may use AI to help prepare your presentation. During the actual presentation, speak in your own words without AI assistance. We want to see how you communicate and handle questions in real time.
